ATOPIC DERMATITIS, this is a new word for me. Our best customer, Jezebel, has apparently been suffering from it for a while. She is known to scratch her ears often, resulting in many ear infections and she also chews on her feet. After many visits to the vet, her owner went for a second opinion. This vet’s diagnosis was atopic dermatitis, which is more or less an allergic reaction to environmental things. I found several sites http://pets.webmd.com/dogs/dogs-atopic-dermatitis-causes-diagnosis-treatment, and http://www.itchfreepet.com/Atopic-dermatitis-in-dogs explaining exactly what it is should your pup have similar symptoms and not been diagnosed with anything that seems to fix the problem. These sites have been very helpful and for now, Jezebel is taking an oral medication that is helping the problem. Hopefully she is on the mend and won’t be itching and scratching so much in the future.
